Before coming to power as the Duke of Yamazakura Kukkyoku, he was raised as a Soieko on an extremely small holding by his mother. Despite his dubious upbringing, he is of pure blood. He is very aggressive and prone to threats and duels. Although he is atypical, he has substantial power in the Sone family; he supported Mirabelle Komaru's return to the capital and, some say, arranged it. He is married to Midoko Komaru. b. 187
Melisande Sone (PC): The viscountess is the daughter of Crescentino Sone and the cousin of the Regent. She has made a name for herself with her Easterner-populated mercenary troops, and her relic-backed assistance in prevailing over the domination abilities of the Aten priests. Sachiko Yuasa (PC): The Numina of the Shattered Blade and Viscountess of Seiguntou was raised in an abbey on the lands of Alain-Yoshito Bellatrix and has since risen to regain control of her ancestral lands and hold a seat on the Numinous Council. She was very active in purging heresy from her familial lands, and is married to Alain-Yoshito Bellatrix now. Many rumors connect her to the Gitany wanderers. b. 185

Nikolai Issorat (PC): The pureblooded son of Remy Sone, Duke of Harvestwide, holds his viscounty of Vallonbrume directly from his father in Sone lands. While many question his father's choice in granting him a viscounty, so far the young man has demonstrated skills that make him a credit to noble society. His twin sister is Aihona Sone, and they are said to be very close.
Jerome Jitani (PC): The Viscount of Hikari no Hana and a merchant of House Orna who gained his first title in Yuasa lands and his second title in Komaru lands with the blessing of Romana and Seraphine Komaru. In 228 he began making speeches in city squares and introducing himself as a Jitani. b. 175

Kedekai (PC): Principal Light of the Church of Inner Light, Kedekai first came to the public eye as the Numinous of the White Branch. As Numinous, he represented the Church's interests in the occult gatherings at the Castle of the Sea and is known to have been attuned while there. While his policies seem cautious and measured, as befitting a man whose election was made possible by the tenuous alliance of opposed factions, barely one year into his leadership, the Eastern faction of the Church schismed and a member of the Numinous Council, Thierry Smith, broke with the Church to begin preaching against it. Many whisper questions about what future the Church now embraces, with an attuned sorcerer at the helm.

Risa Kamry: The Radiance of Touraine-by-the-Sea was appointed as the Numina of White Branch after the holder of that position was chosen as Principal Light.
Ciarra Lacroix: Originally the mistress of Alessandro, she was supposedly murdered when her splinter faction of the Twilight Crux was abandoned by the Minamet. However, she mysteriously turned up alive at the eastern front, where she raised an organic castle called Hope and demonstrated the power of rifles. b. 186

Thierry Smith (PC): Born a poor peasant, Thierry took advantages of the opportunities in the Church for peasant advancement and rose quickly to a position on the Numinous Council under the patronage of Principal Light Alnarim. However, when Alnarim died and Kedekai was appointed to replace him, Thierry first became a representative of the Eastern faction of the Church and then Apostate to the church as he broke all his ties, brought his people out of the East, and began to wander the countryside preaching against the Church's corruption by the nobility. b. 188

Alnarim: The Principal Light came to power after an aggressive campaign by the Touraine and Komaru; formerly Maurice Ambre, he was not of noble blood. He guided the Church through Sokar's War and the expansion afterwards. He was called to the Light in 227, although he had not previously been known as a theurgist.
Augustin Bellatrix: The Lord Protector during the Interregnum, he was killed at Shiro Bridge at the end of the Interregnum in 204. Theodore Bellatrix was his brother.
Basile Bellatrix: Illuminatus and Church Illuminator killed at the Castle of the Sea in 205, after his attack on the duchess Verity Touraine. Son of duke Theodore Bellatrix.
Corin Bellatrix: Illuminator who died at Castle of the Sea while investigating the death of Basile Bellatrix in 207.
Phoebe Bellatrix: The Baroness of Straightwall came into the public eye when she represented the Church-led peacekeeping force in Komaru in 212. She was killed in the final battle of Sokar's War in 218, leading a heroic holding action against the Black Pharaoh's Children.
Madelyn Courant: One of the candidates for Principal Light in 227, she was slain after threatening to schism the Church if Julien Bellatrix was chosen as Principal Light. Before her death, she was one of the most ardent supporters of the Eastern expansion and the Minamet excommunication.
Dominic Giroux: Luminance of Seawatch and Illuminator, assigned to investigate the Castle of the Sea in 207. He is missing and believed deceased, but has been accused of heresy.
Sasha Issorat: The Viscount of Kisei was a guest of the Glory Touraine when he died, supposedly of a heart attack.
Florello Lacroix: Inventor of the Twilight Crux cannon and pistol. Father of Ciarra Lacroix, he died of old age.
Alessandro Komaru: The Crown Prince and ruler of Komaru was married to Kimiko Sone. He was an excellent general but known for having quite a temper. After a dramatic life that included an unexpected inheritance after the Church's revolt killed off the rest of his family and a throne that had to be won through bloody and surprising war, he died heroically while killing the Pharaoh Sokar in 218.
Constantin Komaru: Son of Valentin Komaru, he was executed by the Church in 198 at age 20.
Dante Komaru: The Royal Heir and son of Valentin Komaru, he was executed by the Church in 198 at age 23.
Emile Komaru: Father of Tohru and Aimee Komaru, he attempted a restoration of the Royal Line in 199 and was killed by the Bellatrix.
Hikari Komaru: The mother of Midoko and Sana Komaru died during Emile Komaru's restoration attempt in 199.
Kahana Komaru: The widowed Marchessa of Miyako was one of the most predominant figures in Komaru social circles. She was known for her pure bloodline, her loveliness and her gracious parties, and lastly, the violence of her death at the hands of bandits in 218.
Ligeia Komaru: Daughter of Valentin Komaru, she was executed by the Church in 198 at age 14.
Meiko Komaru (PC): The Marquess and Illuminata of Nikko Hayashi was married to Onyx Touraine; she had a poor reputation as a black widow before her marriage and since observers wondered how long it will last. She had publicly associated herself with the Gitany. She had sworn to follow the Code of Blood. She was an apprentice of Crescentino Sone before she was annihilated battling the Pharaoh Sokar.
Sadashi Komaru: This lord of the Komaru was Alessandro's first cousin and the son of Yokozaki Minamet. He was a skilled general, and left behind his widow Nene Minamet and his daughter Saya Minamet when he died on the Aten front in 217.
Sebastian Komaru: The youngest son of Alessandro Komaru and Kimiko Sone, he drowned when he was seven years old, in 223.
Solenne Komaru: The wife of Valentin Komaru, executed by the Church in 198 at age 41.
Valentin Komaru: The Crown Prince whose reign led to the Interregnum. Father of Lucien, Mirabelle, and Alessandro Komaru. He was executed by the Church in 198.
